Oral Cavity Assessment among Ventilated Children at Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Mouth care has a crucial role in preventing mucositis pediatric patients who admitted to intensive unit and undergoing mechanical ventilation. Aim: was aimed assess oral cavity for children ventilated at Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Subjects method: A descriptive research design used. The study were included 60 (>6 years age) PICU Tools: Data collection tools included: Socio-demographic characteristic clinical data structured questionnaire, assessment tool. Results: It found that most frequently occurring risk factors of among studied fever, drugs malnutrition (66.7% & 23.3% 20.0%) respectively 63.3% the had moderate while quarter them severe mucositis. Conclusion: Children ventilation Recommendations: use an instrument is suggested early detection infection every patient instruct nurses using proper mouth care.
